Terms and Conditions for the Olive Oil Network Certification Programs

1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern participation in the Olive Oil Network Certification Programs, including the Future of Olive Oil & Advanced Sommelier Training Program ("the Programs"), offered by the Olive Oil Network ("OON"). By registering for the Programs, participants agree to comply with these terms.

2. Program Participation

a. Participants must actively engage in all aspects of the Programs, including attending sessions, completing coursework, participating in evaluations, and adhering to any outlined standards of conduct.
b. Participation is open only to individuals aged 18 years or older.

3. Certification Based on Merit

a. Awarding of Certificates: Certificates of Completion ("Certificates") are awarded to participants who successfully meet the Program’s established requirements. Certificates are earned based on merit and are not automatically granted upon enrolment.

b. Completion Requirements: Detailed requirements for successful completion will be provided at the start of the Programs. These may include, but are not limited to, full attendance, timely submission of assignments, achieving passing marks in assessments, and completing practical evaluations. Participants must meet all specified requirements to earn certification. OON reserves the right to withhold Certificates if the criteria are not fully met.

4. Evaluation Process

a. Participants will be assessed using transparent and objective standards to ensure fairness and consistency.

b. OON reserves the right to update evaluation methods or criteria to maintain the quality and integrity of the Programs. Any changes will be promptly communicated to participants.

5. Commitment to Fairness

OON is dedicated to a fair and inclusive evaluation process. All certification decisions will be based solely on merit, aligned with the specified requirements, and free from discrimination of any kind.

6. Amendments to Terms

OON retains the right to modify these terms and conditions as needed. Any updates will be communicated to participants, and continued participation in the Programs will indicate acceptance of the revised terms.

7. Cancellations and Refunds

a. Participant-Initiated Cancellation: If a participant cancels their registration at least two calendar months before the start of the Program (for example, by 1st September for a course starting in November, regardless of the specific day),
a refund will be issued, minus a cancellation fee of CHF 100.00.

b. No-Show Policy: Participants who fail to attend without prior notice will not be eligible for a refund.

c. Organizer-Initiated Cancellation: If OON cancels the Program, participants will receive a full refund. If the Program is rescheduled, participants may choose to maintain their registration or request a full refund.

8. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of Switzerland.
Any legal disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of Swiss courts.

10. Participant Conduct

Participants are expected to behave professionally and treat instructors, staff, and fellow participants with respect. Inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the Program without a refund.

11. Liability Limitations

a. OON shall not be liable for personal injuries, property damage, or losses incurred during participation in the Programs unless caused by gross negligence on the part of OON.

b. Participants are responsible for covering their own travel, accommodation, and other associated expenses unless explicitly stated otherwise.

12. Intellectual Property

All materials provided during the Programs, including course content, handouts, and digital resources, remain the intellectual property of OON. These materials are for personal use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

By registering, participants agree to these terms, fostering a respectful and enriching learning environment for all.
